Directors

Bill Aldrich, Director and CEO

Mr. Aldrich has held executive and engineering positions at Ampex, BioTrack, CVIS, Cartesian Data, CardioThoracic Systems, Integrated Vascular Systems and, most recently, at EndoVx, which he founded and raised $5M in venture financing. Bill brings 28 years in the medical device and magnetic recording industries to EndoShape and has 40+ issued U.S. patents and has over 40 pending applications. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University.

Don Geer, Director

Mr. Geer has held engineering, marketing, and executive positions at Bard Access Systems, AngioDynamics, Vascular Access Centers, and r4 Vascular. He was one of the founders of r4 Vascular and raised $12 million in venture financing. Don also served in the Marine Corps for 6 years of which the last two he received medic training. Don brings 21 years of both clinical (hands on) – practice management (outpatient IR/IN) and device company experience. Don has 2 issued U.S. patients and 3 pending applications. Don holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Chemistry and Mathematics from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from SUNY Albany.

Lee Geist, Director

Mr. Geist has over twenty-eight years of progressive experience in innovation, product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and business management, with particular focus in single patient use medical devices. By combining individual effort and effective team and business leadership, he has achieved outstanding results throughout his career at Marquest Medical Products, Vital Signs, and GE Healthcare.

Shawn Fojtik, Director

Mr. Fojtik has 20-years sales, marketing, product development, and general management experience at Control Medical Technology, Pinyons Medical Technology, Boston Scientific, GE Medical Systems, and Black & Decker. He has sixteen combined issued and pending patents on angiographic, biopsy, electrophysiology, occlusion access/crossing, and thrombus extraction devices. He received his Bachelors Degree from University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois and Masters Degree from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mark Lupa, PhD Director

Dr. Lupa is currently Managing Director of High Country Venture, a venture firm in Boulder, Colorado that invests in early stage Life Science and IT companies. Dr. Lupa holds a B.S. from Northwestern University, an M. Phil. from the University of Sussex (England) in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Lund, Sweden. He conducted neuroscience research for fifteen years at institutions worldwide, including the University of Colorado and the University of California San Francisco.  Dr Lupa’s business experience came first in the brewing industry as founder, CEO and CFO of Tabernash Brewing Company, which was formed in 1993 and merged with Left Hand Brewing in 1998. Dr Lupa then moved to private investment company Tango to focus on technology and Life Science investments. He has served as founding member of the Board of Directors of Taligen Therapeutics, Sierra Neuropharma, Oberon, DCS Surgical, and Theratogs, and was CFO of Taligen from inception of the company in 2004 until early 2008.

Robin Shandas, Director and CTO

Dr. Shandas is a Director and serves as EndoShape’s CTO. He is a Professor of Pediatrics, Mechanical Engineering & Surgery, and Head of the Bioengineering Department at the University of Colorado-Denver. He has extensive expertise in cardiovascular devices, biomedical engineering, and imaging, and has helped found three new bio-technology ventures prior to EndoShape’s formation. He has authored over 200 scientific publications, has or has applied for over 10 patents, and is principal investigator on numerous grants from NIH, NSF, AHA, etc.
